The worst is when the document has a deadline.
I'm glad you found yours!!Ana Morganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12325215832587691886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999125118927001112.post-30167751620172962522014-12-03T15:42:54.817-08:002014-12-03T15:42:54.817-08:00Whew! Th...Whew! I am feeling your joy and relief, Paula.

This happened to me once when I was working on my masters degree. I was creating lesson plans, and saving each one in turn. They were similar in format. At one point I saved the new version, but forgot to save the previous one. User error all the way in this case. It would have been nice to know how to retrieve a previous version of a document. I didn't know that was possible.Debra St. Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07154130275058459169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999125118927001112.post-80527044211525201452014-12-03T14:59:37.033-08:002014-12-03T14:59:37.033-08:00Backing up was what actually caused my problem thi...Backing up was what actually caused my problem this time, Tonette! If I hadn't backed up on Wednesday with the wrongly named file, my original file would still have been there on Thursday. As it was, I had to search hard for that original file!Paula Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10040623635956769807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999125118927001112.post-11024702558979880712014-12-03T14:47:23.536-08:002014-12-03T14:47:23.536-08:00I always back up my work on flash drives.I am glad...I always back up my work on flash drives.I am glad that this ended well, Paula.Tonette Joycehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03282619985489614075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999125118927001112.post-40431894417495758312014-12-03T14:36:31.116-08:002014-12-03T14:36:31.116-08:00I backed up as usual on Wednesday night, Margaret,...I backed up as usual on Wednesday night, Margaret, but in this case it might have been better if I hadn't, as I would have then found my original Chapter 28 on Dropbox the following evening! But you're right about learning a lesson from it! I shall be extra careful when naming 'new' files, and I now know where to find previous versions of files. All's well that ends well, as they say!
Paula Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10040623635956769807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999125118927001112.post-40300372532045669722014-12-03T14:14:16.772-08:002014-12-03T14:14:16.772-08:00Every night I always back up on to an external har...Every night I always back up on to an external hard drive. I've been through the panicking stages thinking I've lost something. But not any more. Thank goodness. I'm glad you found your lost pages, Paula. Didn't work this time though, as on Wednesday night I simply backed up the wrongly named file, which took the place of the full chapter! I don't back things up as often as I should, even after the computer crashed, but I plan to going forward.
