The middle part comes along as we go. I am not a linear writer, so I tend to write what strikes me at any given moment, so I'll often have the end written before I've actually finished writing the entire story.Debra St. Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07154130275058459169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999125118927001112.post-20400388573446250112017-11-22T07:20:07.787-08:002017-11-22T07:20:07.787-08:00I agree with you, Paula. Sappy may be okay if it fits with the characters' goals and motivations. A "work it out like adults" ending might be the perfect ending for a different set of characters. Just like their personalities reveal themselves as we write, I'm pretty sure you'll know the ending when you see it.JENNIFER WILCKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16218241106543538422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999125118927001112.post-21166962957365941782017-11-22T06:41:05.722-08:002017-11-22T06:41:05.722-08:00I'm with you, Paula. I don't mind a prologue-type ending if it's short and show how well life for the reconciled or reunited lovers has worked out.
For me, the all-important final sentence presents itself like an unexpected gift. I haven't had it pre-planned, but that would work, too--saved like a beacon.
Ana Morganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12325215832587691886noreply@blogger.com
