K is for Killer

Ana muses about killer things.
I think high-heeled shoes with pinpoint heels in any color are killers. They do their best to embarrass me when I walk in public. My foot inevitably tips to one side, loses its balance and I stumble awkwardly. Sometimes painfully.
Threading a needle is (now) a killer. Thimbles have always been a killer.
Since the advent of pneumatic wrenches, changing a tire on a deserted road has been a killer. I'm convinced the tire shops get a kickback from the tow truck drivers.
Climate change is a killer. We used to be able to walk through the woods on our farm in summer and not ever see the sky. Now, it's evolving to a savannah, with an oak here and there.
Daylight Savings time is a killer. Shout! Pick a time and leave it there. Farmers' tractors have had headlights for decades now. I can never remember how to change the time display in my car and truck.

What irks you? What do you think is a killer?

  1. I don't even possess a pair of high heeled shoes now!
For me, shopping is a killer e.g. today when I was searching for a white handbag which obviously isn't the 'in' colour this year!

    1. I hate malls especially. No windows to gauge the time of day.

  3. Daylight savings time is definitely a killer. I totally overslept this morning...which I NEVER do.

Trying to work full time, write, edit, and publicize is a killer.

    1. The biggest killer of all, Debra, juggling four full-time jobs, I do it, too, though not as well as you.

  4. Coming up with book titles is a killer. You think you have the perfect one and then discover it has already been used.
