G is for Good News

Ana waits for good news.

The good news I am hoping to hear is acceptance of my first romance from Entangled Publishing. An editor requested a full after I entered a first 100 words contest through the Hearts Through History chapter.

Excited, I finished the manuscript and submitted it. Entangled gave me a passcode to check on its progress. It's been "in progress" for seventy days.

I still have a good feeling about its chances for acceptance, but do not hold my hopes off the ground.
There are other publishers. I could go back to my original plan to self-publish. In the meantime, I am following the classic advice : start on another WIP.

What do you do after you hit send? How do you wait for good news?

  1. Good luck Ana, keeping everything crossed for you! I recently sent off my very first query letter and after hitting 'send' I felt quite shaky!

  2. I do what you've done - maybe take a breather for a couple of days, and then start a new story.
I'm keeping everything crossed for you and 'Stormy' :-)

  3. Definitely start something else. Waiting is the hardest part so you need something to take your mind off it.

  4. Good luck, Ana! I have fingers and toes and everything else crossed for you!

When I submit something I try to forget I did. Ha! Otherwise I'd go crazy counting the days and waiting to hear...and yes, in the meantime I start a new project.

  5. Good luck to you! I've also got everything crossed for you. I do the same as you and move onto the next project, because you never know when they're going to ask, "What else do you have?"
