I haven't submitted a romance to a publisher in four years. Rejections after the requests jettisoned me onto a quest for a higher skill set. I've studied hard and am emerging to find publishing is in a whirlwind of change. Dorcester going e-only is huge.
I will submit to RWA-recommended e-publishers when my WIP is polished to the best of my ability. I'm nervous, but hoping I'll get a better grade than four years ago.
Do you have a critique partner to help you fix the errors of your ways from years past?
ReplyDeleteDon't only go by RWA recommendation. Talk to the publishers authors. RWA might not know what's going on behind the scenes of a publisher.
Good question, Toni! I joined the critique group of FTHRW. I have a good friend who helps me polish, and several more who would be willing.
ReplyDeleteI think you should research your publishers and submit, Ana. I know it's hard being a first-timer to get your foot in the door, but have confidence in yourself now, and do it!
