My New Life as a Kindler

After standing in line for nearly an hour holding a three-month old to cash in on a "deal" at the phone store so my favorite daughter-in-law could upgrade to an I-phone, I agreed to buy an android tablet. My old laptop takes ten minutes or more to boot up, just to check emails.

But that's just backstory. I discovered my new tablet has a Kindle app and, after a month and a half of frustration, I have figured out how to download e-books. This is good news because I will have books in e-format soon.

Maybe I'll self-publish. I would need to be comfortable with the technology to self-publish.

Debra, I just ordered This Time for Always. Paula and Jen, you are next... as soon as I recharge the tablet. It has a short life and is beeping insistently.

  1. Welcome to the Kindle world, Ana. I've had my Kindle for over a year now, and I love it. My daughters and grandsons give me Amazon vouchers for birthdays and Christmas now, and even the over-50's group I run gave me an Amazon voucher as a thank-you gift. Only trouble is, I have so many books on my TBR list on my Kindle, I need a month's holiday (or more) to read them all!

  3. Ana...welcome aboard! My hubby got me a Kindle for Christmas and I love it! I still read more the 'old fashioned' way...but I do love my Kindle for vacations and books that are only in e-format. It's much better than reading on a computer.

I hope you like "This Time for Always"! Thanks for grabbing it!

  4. I loved it! Read it yesterday while hubby was hopping between baseball playoff and Viking football games. A great story, Debra. I will write a review and post on Amazon asap. Gotta go to work now.

  5. Hi Ana, welcome to the digital age! (Sorry, had to be different). I have an iPad and have a Nook app and a Kindle app on it, so I can read regardless of format. I still like paper books, but I love reading on the iPad and I'm more willing to try new authors and new books on it, since the prices are usually so much lower. My daughters also have Nooks and they love them (even my younger one who does not love reading--I can't say she's adopted, since I was there, but I'm starting to believe my older daughter's theory that she hatched from a Martian egg).
