On the Merry-Go-Round

When I picked my release date of June 3, I knew it was pretty soon.  I just didn’t consider how soon. In order to get promotion going, I’ve really got to get my butt in gear. That wouldn’t be a problem if I didn’t have a life other than writing. Fortunately or unfortunately, I do.

Spring break is this week and for the first time in a long time, we’re actually going away. Packing, organizing, and convincing my kids that they really don’t need to pack everything they own has taken up a lot of time.

Temple volunteer activities have switched into high gear. I’m organizing a going-away dinner and service for our religious school director and despite a wonderful committee, there’s a lot to do.

So I find I’m rushing around a lot with the promotion. I’ve decided this time around to engage the services of a promotional company to set up a blog tour and to set up some reviews. I’m still setting up my own blog tour, but this company will reach people I haven’t reached before. And reviews, well, I can always use help with that. The company is reasonably priced and has been used by people I know.

Setting up my own blog tour involves reciprocating and my calendar is quickly filling up with lots of awesome writers. I hope you’ll stop by this blog to meet some new Friday Friends in the coming months, as well as my own blog (link on the side).

I’ve bugged the heck out of my website designer. She’s obviously got the patience of a saint since she’s still talking to me—although since we talk via email, who knows what she’s really saying! ;) She’s working on creating a new book page, as well as developing promo material for me. I can’t wait to see what she does!

There’s a lot to do, but it’s fun and since I’m doing things a bit differently this time around, I’m looking forward to comparing the results. Who knows how successful it will be, but I’m guaranteed to meet some great people!
