This past week has been very busy for me. In addition to it
being Passover, involving lots of cooking and cleaning and family, it was also
a week of great news from my publisher.
My newest book, The Seduction of Esther, is being released
June 3, 2013. Yup, in two months! So I have lots of promotional materials to
put together, a marketing plan to develop, blog tours to book (if anyone wants
me as a guest, give me a shout, please!), etc.
I was actually given a choice of four dates. Two were in
May, which were too close for me to do enough planning and two were in June.
The other June date, however, while giving me more planning time, is too close
to my kids’ leaving for camp—I’ll be too busy with their plans to do anything
with my own.
My editor, Jenn, also sent me back my manuscript with her
edits for me to look over. I love, love, love the changes she made. I want an
editor to tear the heck out of my work in order to ultimately make it the best
it can be. And when I ran a comparison, she made a lot of changes! So I spent
the past weekend going over everything, making my own changes, and ensuring
that it’s as polished as I can make it.
The other thing that I received is my cover! I love it!
Wanna see it? Scroll down.
Isn’t it gorgeous? It gives the exact feel that I was going
for and I think the cover artist was brilliant.
So, let me know what you think. And if you want a guest
blogger, please let me know! J
Glad you editing is going well - and I'll repeat my FB reaction to your cover - wow!

ReplyDeleteJen,
ReplyDeleteWow! That cover is fantastic! And how fun to get to choose your own release date...I love an editor who jumps in and really gets involved in the project. I'm all for making a book the best it can be.
Good luck getting everything together (publicity, etc.) for your new release!
The cover is absolutely perfect, Jen. I am so glad you like your editor's suggestions, too.
