Jennifer is spinning her wheels...
I’m at that “in-between time” in writing. I’ve submitted a
manuscript to my editor and she’s accepted it for publication. I’ve signed the contract,
but haven’t gotten a release date, forms, or anything else.
This is the time I should be writing. I should be working on
the next book in the series. I should be finishing up the edits to the other
manuscript I wrote and getting it ready for submission as well. It’s the
perfect time to do all of this because there’s no pressure, no deadline and no
current marketing that has to be done.
Unfortunately, I’m totally uninspired.
Maybe the lack of pressure is part of the problem. Maybe I
need things held over my head in order to get things done. If so, that’s
disappointing. Writing has always been my escape from the stresses of the rest
of the world. It’s what I do when I don’t want to work on my to-do list. It’s
not supposed to be another thing I don’t want to do.
Here’s hoping the summer brings some inspiration!

Have tried three times to post a comment - but it is not appearing here, no idea why!
ReplyDeleteTrying again just to say I'm having a welcome break from my WIP while I'm away,. and hoping I'll feel motivated (and inspired) when I get home again.
Inspiration is a fickle thing isn't it? I say for now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the 'freedom'. You'll be busy enough soon with edits, forms, covers, etc! Fun times!!
