I have a complicated relationship with food. I don’t like
eating in large groups, especially when standing. Stress takes away my
appetite, but boredom increases it. I will often forget to eat breakfast or
lunch, but become super cranky when I skip meals. My father-in-law is one of
the few who appreciates the fact that I choose my restaurant meals based on the
dessert menu. That being said, my five favorite foods are:
- Goat cheese
- Homemade chocolate chip cookies—my own
- Peaches
- Sushi
- Chocolate
I love food and it takes a lot of control to not weigh 300 pounds. I've been really good about counting carbs since April. The question is, can I continue this life style for the rest of my life? I sure hope so because if not, I'll become a Diabetic. The threat is already there.

I love your assessing the dessert line-up first, Jen. A slice of fine cheesecake is worth two rolls, at least.
ReplyDeleteI, too, eat when I'm bored. Not a good policy, but it's a hard programming to overrule.
I've never eaten sushi. The idea makes me cringe.
I don't have a sweet tooth, so invariably do not bother about desserts. If I'm going to have have two courses, then I prefer a starter and a main.
ReplyDeleteI've never eaten (or even wanted to eat) sushi either!
Hi Joyce, yes, it does take a lot of control! Good luck with your efforts.
ReplyDeleteAna & Paula, sushi is really good! You should try it sometime. :)
I always check out the dessert menu before I order my meal so I know if I'm saving room for dessert or not!
ReplyDeleteExactly, Debra!
